Although I've tried I wasn't able to mimic this behaviour again, regardless of where I place my mouse. In the video you can see how the LED light does go bright white only for a couple of seconds, around the 25s mark, but it goes back to dim without me even moving the mouse.
It never charges the mouse like it's supposed to. The white LED light is always either turned off, or dim white - never bright white.
